As a young woman, I had a thriving career in corporate finance. But once I gave birth to my second child, I opted out. I put my career on hold and left the household’s money matters to my husband. I became a passive observer in my own financial life and future.
After my 18-year marriage ended in a painful divorce, I had an urgent need to reenter the workforce, as well as an acute awareness of the profound risk I put myself in all those years ago. Regaining my financial independence was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
I took what I learned during that challenging time and combined my financial background with a newfound passion for educating and empowering women, which led me to build a national consulting practice as a financial strategist for women in transition, and consequently create WomenWealthyWise. In late 2017, I co-founded, Sendero Women & Wealth, in order to offer a broader spectrum of financial resources to women.
My personal story is one of reinvention: from stay-at-home mom, to single mother fearful about my financial security, to highly successful businesswomen. This journey inspired me to devote my career to helping women become better stewards of their lives, financially and emotionally.
I strongly believe that all women need financial education and independence to truly be there for themselves and their families. Regardless of marital status, age, or career path, each one of us will face transitions—expected and unexpected—ranging from divorce or widowhood, to retirement, job change, or emptynesterhood.
I love inspiring women to become financially independent and emotionally empowered, as their newfound confidence and skills invariably carry over to bring positive changes to many aspects of their lives.
